‘WE CAN TURN THE ECONOMY AROUND’

THE economy faces major challenges, with growth weak and unemployment high despite terms of trade being favourable and a global recovery, but it should not be too challenging to turn things around, South African Reserve Bank Governor Lesetja Kganyago said this week.

Speaking at the South African Tomorrow Investor Conference in New York, US, he said: “It should not be a difficult task to turn things around.

“Setting out some investment-friendly ambitions for the economy and reducing political uncertainty would go a long way towards boosting confidence.”– ANA
