BEST place for a first date in the city? Definitely Market Restaurant.

What’s the first thing you do when you arrive in Durban from out of town? Take a stroll on the promenade. It reminds you how beautiful the city is.

Best meal you’ve had in Durban, that’s not at home?

The breyani, at House of Curries on Florida Road.

What local song can’t you stop listening to? Nakhane’s Fog.

What local TV show are you loving right now? Fashion reality show, Raw Silk on SABC 1.

What’s the last South African movie you watched? Five Fingers for Marseilles.

And the last stage play? Asinamali by Mbongeni Ngema.

Which documentar­y is better? The September Issue or The First Monday in May? The September Issue.

When was the last time you attended a music concert/festival and who was performing? I believe it was Zakifo. Nakhane was performing.

Earliest memory you have of Durban? Excursions with my school to the beach and my first tour of Mini Town

If you were mayor for the day, what would you do? Open a skills training centre for street kids.

Your favourite hangout spot in Durban? Badgers in Davenport.

The best kept secret in the city? SSS Parties (Have never heard of them either – Ed).

Best place to let your hair down? Elangeni Hotel’s The Panorama Bar and Pool Deck.

Who do you call when you want to have fun and where in the city do you go? My best friend, who’s a fashion designer and we usually do Davenport.

Your favourite coffee shop? Next Chapter, the former Europa, on Florida Rd.

Favourite Durban shop to shop? The Space Men.

Florida Road or Helen Joseph Road? Which one is better? Florida Road.

umhlanga Village or Gateway umhlanga? Gateway umhlanga.

Which is your favourite market in Durban? The Victoria Street Market.

Which building in Durban would you like to own? 320 on Dr Pixley Kaseme Street.

Which building you’d like to be locked in overnight? The city hall.

What’s the one thing people need to stop doing in Durban? Polluting the ocean.

Where is the best view of Durban? On top of Moses Mabhida stadium

Best place for a nightcap? Butcher Block.

Where would you suggest first time visitors to the city go, to get the best experience of the city? I would definitely suggest West Street (Dr

Pixley Kaseme), I know it’s unconventi­onal but I believe that’s where you really experience the diversity of the city.
