Elvis pondered fame and fortune
A BIBLE used by Elvis Presley for 20 years was sold on auction in the UK for £59 000 (about R1.03 million).
The Bible – in a gold-embossed leather cover – was given to The King of rock ’n’ roll by an uncle and aunt on a visit to Presley when he was spending his first Christmas at Graceland in 1957. There are dozens of annotations and notes from Presley in the Bible. He underlined, for example: “What is a man advantaged if he gained the whole world and lost himself or be cast away?” – Auctions Writer
