‘Others killed on plantation’
WHILE Campbell has passed away, Naidoo said the group sought acknowledgement for a relative or extended company to assume liability.
On Wednesday, the Asijiki group gathered with old Mount Edgecombe sugar barracks residents to pay tribute on the 105th death anniversary of Guruvadu’s murder. The group is also hoping the inquest will give rise to further inquests regarding the murders of others on the plantation.
“There are restless souls in those plantations. Their tongues were cut off 105 years ago, but today we are their voices for justice.
“We demand responsibility, accountability, atonement and redress from the beneficiaries of these people’s deaths and abuse,” said Naidoo.
