‘Be playful and spontaneous’

- UMGENI ROAD TEMPLE HALL, DURBAN

PARAMA Naidoo, a field service engineer for Ford Motor Company, based in Dubai, married selfemployed Syneshia Naidoo, on November 24 at the Umgeni Road Temple Hall, in Durban.

How we met: The couple, both 36, met at the old Durban airport in Isipingo in 2007 while flying to Cape Town for a company event.

“It was not love at first sight. My friends and I thought Syneshia and her friend were snobs because she would not talk to us. Once we got to know each other we became friends and began dating,” said Parama .

The proposal and wedding: With Parama based in Dubai for the past two years, the long distance had taken its toll on the couple, who decided to marry. The venue for the Hindu ceremony was beautifully decked out in white, red and gold drapes and white and red flowers.

Biggest Challenge: The fact that I was not in South Africa to plan anything and only arrived a week before the wedding, I had to rely heavily on Syneshia, my family and friends to pull this beautiful wedding off.

Views on love and marriage: Open communication, understanding your partner, compromising where you can. Know your partners likes and dislikes. Be playful and spontaneous.
