‘ Ooh, Fassie ’ s a floor bug!’

Nosy neighbours have field day

BONGANI Fassie has apparently been spending an unusual amount of time at his girlfriend’s family home in Dube, Soweto

– to the point that neighbours have started asking questions.

Nosy neighbours, who have sighted Fassie ’ s giant Hummer SUV parked at Buhle Sangweni’s house almost daily, are alarmed by the trend and conclude that the son of Brenda, the late Queen of Pop, might have moved in permanently.

One neighbour, who asked for her identity to be withheld, alleges Fassie and Sangweni are part of the furniture as they sleep on the floor in the living room of the four-roomed house.

“I was shocked to see him and Buhle on the floor when I visited the house one morning.

“Some family members were jumping over them in the morning, says the baffled neighbour. ” The couple flatly deny the claims, saying their neighbours must stop sticking their noses into other people’s affairs. Another neighbour claims: He

“is in a state of mess. This shows that he is down and out.

“How do you leave the suburbs, where you bathe inside the house and now take a bath in a wash basin?”

Sunday World also understands that Fassie went to a dingy local tavern called Pinky’s Place with his Hummer last week and behaved like a runaway train.

“Bongani got here and started throwing R200 notes to the patrons.

“He was calling himself ‘ blowing money fast nigga’ (a line popularised by US rapper Rick Ross),” says a patron who witnessed the incident.

Sunday World visited the quiet suburb of Dube on Friday to see if Fassie was really now a resident.

A woman we met at the gate said Sangweni had left in the morning and Fassie went to Sandton to prepare for his trip to Cape Town, where he will be performing soon.

In a telephone interview, Fassie acted surprised.

“Who is telling you all these things? I don’t live there but I visit because the house belongs to Buhle’s aunt.

“I stay in Buccleuch and I visit Soweto whenever I feel like doing so.

“I also visit my dad’s family in Zola. I go to Dube because that’s where my girlfriend is from, so people must stop talking s**t about me.

“I don't deny spending time there. You know people like to talk and my being there has nothing to do with them.

“I never went to any tavern and gave people money.

“Who is Pinky by the way?

“I don’t like it when people start spreading lies about me,” Fassie protests.

Sangweni also plays down the claims.

“Bongani doesn’t stay here. We only slept together here once and that was when there was an umsebenzi (ritual ceremony) at my home.

“I am the one who is staying here, so I don’t know why it’s an issue when Bongani comes and sleeps over.

“I am his girlfriend, after all, so people should stop worrying about other people's affairs,” Sangweni says.
