Molefe did not return calls nor text messages, but sources say he denies being party to any media leaks, let alone the results of interviews.

The sources say Molefe finds these charges laughable and is confident that they will not stand.

Since suspending Molefe over the news diary, Mokhobo has not had any follow-ups with him, despite promising she would meet him.

Molefe has never demanded that he be paid R7m by the SABC, Sunday World ond time in as many months this year with a clear intent to dismiss him, it turned out that he had just extended his contract with the public broadcaste­r by seven years, which is worth way above the reported R7m.

Mokhobo has had several run-ins with Molefe since she was appointed GCEO ahead of him.

Two of these have been the dramatic suspension­s of Molefe, the current one arising out

of a stand-off over the news diary, which Mokhobo demanded she be given every day before news go on air.

Molefe refused to accede to her demands, stating that the news diary was an editorial management issue and not an executive matter.

Mokhobo’s request followed what she allegedly perceived inordinate airtime on Sunday Live given to expelled ANC Youth League president Julius Malema.
