SHOOTER CAUGHT ON CAMERA

- NGWAKO MALATJI

THE net is closing in on the man who allegedly shot music promoter Prosper Mkwaiwa and his wife Tina in their Morula Sun hotel room last month after they disobeyed his order to have sex in front of him.

Police have confirmed they have obtained video footage of the man who shot the couple.

Sources close to the case say the police obtained a court order to force the hotel management to release the video. They had allegedly refused to hand over the footage to the investigating officer, known only as Warrant Officer Ramba of the Mabopane Police Station, because he did not have a court order.

The footage shows the man signing for his firearm at the reception and tailing Tina to their room.

It also shows him jumping out of the hotel room and running into the bush after shooting the couple,” says our mole.

Ramba declined to comment and referred us to their spokesperson, Warrant Officer Dikatso Thebe.

Thebe confirms that they obtained the footage on Thursday.

Our investigations are still under way and we have not arrested anybody yet,” she said.

Mkwaiwa said he was informed about the video and was happy that the suspect will soon be caught.

The rumours published in the media that my wife and I had a fight, shot each other and fabricated the story were painful to read.

I know I have enemies but didn t know that they hated me that much to circulate such lies about us,” he said.
