Back with a bang!

NEW CAST FOR INTERSEXIONS

- BOITUMELO TLHOAELE

THE second season of the enthralling SABC1 drama series Intersexions is finally back with a new cast.

And the team of well-known directors includes actors Xolile Tshabala, Sthandiwe Kgoroge and Sisanda Henna, all of whom have directed an episode each.

The three are better known for their TV roles in front of the camera rather than behind the scenes.

But this latest endeavour is something creative director Rolie Nikiwe sees as a step in the right direction.

He says one of the reasons for creating the series was not only to tell compelling stories about the complexities of relationships under the HIV-Aids umbrella but to give oppor- tunities to fresh creative talent.

Henna says this has been a remarkable experience for him and he hopes to do more editing in the future. He says his episode will be highly emotional ”.

And if you watched the last series you ll remember it for its exceptional format and storylines.

The series was non-judgmental but sobering in its approach to dealing with issues about the complexities of relationships, sex and HIV. The first one was about con“nectivity and this one is about secrets,” says Nikiwe.

Nikiwe hopes that this season will generate as much interest and debate as the first one.

The first episode will air on February 12 at 8.30pm.
