TWO years after she warned another woman to stay away from my man”, Noma Mngoma’s patience and tenacity have been rewarded with a promise of marriage from Public Enterprises Minister Malusi Gigaba.

Sunday World can reveal that the minister, dubbed Mr Loverman after his alleged affair with a married woman while he was dating Mngoma was exposed, will be putting a ring on Mngoma’s finger in the near future.

Gigaba s family took umembeso to Mngoma’s family in Kokstad, KwaZuluNatal, last weekend.

Umembeso is a traditional Zulu ceremony that forms part of lobola negotiations where the groom gives gifts to the bride’s parents and family before the wedding.

Gigaba s spokesman, Mayihlome Tshwete, confirmed that the minister’s family visited Mngoma’s family last Saturday.

The minister does not like discussing his personal life in public, but, yes, I can confirm that a delegation led by his mother took umembeso to Noma’s family,” said Tshwete.

He would not elaborate when the vows

would be exchanged, only saying that Gigaba plans to marry Mngoma in the near future”.

The future Mrs Gigaba’s Waity Katy” attitude has paid off and her excitement is clear on her Twitter postings, where she describes herself as a Technology Babe” and her location as Sandton.

Her friends’ chattering on the social network, including lyrics to traditional wedding songs and locations in Kokstad, also confirm the happy news.

Days after the umembeso, Mngoma (33) exchanged makoti banter with a friend on twitter.

Gigaba officially debuted Mngoma as his partner at his fancy 40th birthday party two years ago at the Radisson Blu in Sandton, which was attended by socialite celebrities such as Khanyi Mbau, Sonia Sedebe and Basetsana Kumalo.

Gigaba spilt from his former wife Thabong in 2010. They have a 13year-old daughter.

The minister also has a son with Mngoma.
