MINNIE DLAMINI IN LOVE TRIANGLE

Minnie aims to focus on her career

- NGWAKO MALATJI

SULTRY SABC sports presenter Minnie Dlamini dumped Kaizer Chiefs captain Itumeleng Khune after discovering the footie’s alleged carnal match with Vanessa Masilo.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, two independent sources, one Dlamini’s close associate and the other a colleague, told Sunday World that Dlamini called it quits after learning that Masilo was getting amorous with Khune behind her back.

Dlamini’s colleague said Masilo, who worked in the corporate services of the broadcaster in Auckland Park, told them she was having an affair with Khune.

The colleague added that Masilo allegedly told them that Dlamini knew that she was Khune’s side dish and was giving her attitude.

Masilo alleged that she had connections at the SABC and threatened to use her influence to get Dlamini fired.

“She claimed that she knew people in high places and would influence them to fire Minnie. This did not sit well with other staff members, who told Minnie to watch her back.”

The colleague said Dlamini ignored Masilo because she was worried the information would be leaked to the media if she confronted her.

“Upon introspection, she decided to end her relationship with Khune after realising that he was putting her career at risk by having something on the side with a colleague who threatened to have her fired,” said the colleague.

Dlamini’s close associate confirmed that the sexy KwaZuluNatal-born vixen broke up with Khune partly because of Masilo’s threats.

“There comes a point where you choose between your job and your relationship.

“Minnie doesn’t know this woman. She was just shocked to learn of claims that she [Masilo] was seeing Itu behind her back.”

Masilo said: “I’m in a meeting and I will get back to you later.”

But she never did. She also ignored the phone calls and text messages we sent to her phone.

In a written statement, Dlamini confirmed the tiff between her and Masilo.

“Yes. I have been informed by my employers of a lady who reportedly has an obsession with me.

“Personally, I don’t know who she is and I don’t care.

“My focus has been my growth within the world of sport and my exciting new summer ventures,” she said.

Khune, too, was not available for comment, as his cellphone rang unanswered.

He did not respond to the text messages we sent to him.

Chiefs boss Bobby Motaung said Khune would not speak to us because he was preparing for the league match against Free State Stars in Phuthaditjhaba yesterday.
