Nene is a man of honour

-

THERE has been a loud noise that President Jacob Zuma puts the ANC before government.

But he really puts the interests of his family and cronies like Dudu Myeni, the Guptas, Vivian Reddy and his girlfriends before those of the ANC and government.

Dudu Myeni was unhappy with Malusi Gigaba. Then Zuma removed him for his stance on SAA.

I was in middle management when the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature awarded a R3-million catering tender to Nompumelelo Mhlongo, a girlfriend of the president who has two kids with him.

Ellen Tshabalala, like Pallo Jordan, Vincent Mdunge, Mohau Pheko and Daniel Mthimkhulu of PRASA, misrepresented her qualifications. Zuma did nothing, in the same way he remained silent on Richard Mdluli employing his family as operatives in the SAPS intelligence unit.

The people of Greytown and Kranskop, however, know Nhlanhla Nene as a humble and hard-working man, who has not put his family first like the president.

Instead, he has been committed to making our district in Umzinyathi work for the people. As a minister, he was not always surrounded by bodyguards, especially when attending weddings, funerals or doing his shopping.

Greytown, Kranskop and Inkandla are neighbours and the president thought Nene would be a

“ja baas, Inkandla must come first ” man, but he was disappointed.

Like Mxolisi Nxasana, who wanted to prosecute Mdluli, Nomgcobo Jiba and Lawrence Mrwebi, he was removed.

But Nene is a man of honour, a descendent of king Bambatha, and not a looter. Stix Zondi
