BERNARD Parker is confident that Kaizer Chiefs have turned the corner and will use today’s Macufe Cup clash against Bloemfontein Celtic at Vodacom Park Stadium in the Free State capital to keep the momentum.

Amakhosi have won their last three matches after a slow start and since this is the international break, Parker said the match against Celtic is important in terms of staying focused.

The game is very important for us, especially to keep the momentum and the spirit we have. It is also very important for the players who don’t get much time to play to get their minutes; to get them updated with the rest of the squad,” said the forward.

The 30-year-old has attributed Chiefs change in fortunes to a mental shift and believes they are now on the right track.

If they scored against us we tended to drop a little bit and if we missed chances in front, the team got to be frustrated a little bit, so it was just that little bit of a psychological thing that we needed to correct.

Definitely now we are psyched up. We accept our mistakes and fight to improve we fight to get better and that’s how we should go,” he said.

We had to get ourselves in the right frame of mind and it has definitely paid off,” Parker continued.

Winning the game [against Celtic] will keep our spirit high and we just want to continue and go on from here.”

On the other hand, Celtic, who are bottom of the PSL standings, will use the match to try find a winning combination.

Tickets for the match are available at Computicket from R30 and R50 for open stands, while a place on the grand stand will cost you R60.

Kickoff is at 3pm.
