VERSATILE chanteuse Elle Tisane has returned to the music industry with a bang after a six-year hiatus. Tisane, who disappeared from the music radar in 2010 after dropping her gospel album titled The Album, has bounced back with a sophomore disc titled In Love. The 19-track offering, which features popular reggae muso Colbert Mukwevho and gospel star Rofhiwa Manyanga, will hit the shelves tomorrow. Tisane, who played Lebo on SABC2 soapie Muvhango, confirmed her comeback after six years of hibernation. When the music bug bites you, it’s forever. I’m one of those amazing singers who was bitten by the bug and shared my talent with the world. I took a break to focus on other projects but I have now returned because my fans have been harassing me to produce more music that will soothe their souls. And, voila! I obliged,” she said. Born Relebogile Tisane, the petite starlet cut her teeth in the music industry in 2002 when she released R&B album I skhathi-Time. I showed the world that dynamite indeed comes in small packages when I exploded onto the scene and caught everyone’s attention through my powerful vocal chords.” The album, which featured hit song Nobody But You, earned her a nomination in the Best Afro-pop album category at the 2002 SA Music Awards. In 2004, she released her second album, Front Cover, which again received a nomination at the Samas in the R&B category. Five years after that, Elle shocked the music industry when she switched to gospel with The Album. Gospel runs in my veins and is the music I will forever cherish.” She took the Best Styled Personality gong at the 2016 Mzansi Christian Awards.
