More work needed to fix Eskom

-

An efficiently run Eskom is integral to the overall health of SA’s economy as it supplies more than 90% of the country’s power.

With our economy teetering towards the abyss as many industries including retail, media and mining are shed jobs this year, the mass electricity blackouts only act to further put our economy in the ICU.

South Africans woke up to power outages across the country last weekend without any prior notice.

The impact was felt heavily by small and medium enterprises as trading in many areas came to a standstill and sales were lost.

There are greater structural reforms needed to fix Eskom as tariff increases and job cuts are unsustainable.
