Let ConCourt reverse dagga legalisation

-

The so-called legalisation of dagga in SA is 99% confused. The “private possession and use of dagga for personal” reasons has been “legalised” by the South African courts of law .

Dagga is banned in almost all sports but if a sportsperson is found smoking dagga in the dressing room, this is regarded as a serious crime and he may even be banned for life in the sport that he is participating in.

First, dressing rooms are private spaces, therefore to smoke dagga there might be regarded as “smoking dagga privately”.

Second, dagga is banned in boxing, but it has been “constitutionally legalised”.

What a confusion! I therefore request the Constitutional Court to reverse its decision. We did not fight for dagga to be legalised. We were not consulted about the unbanning of dagga.

We fought to liberate the formerly oppressed masses.
