Isibaya actor Sayitsheni Simon Mdakhi has been dumped by his wife, Nomndeni Precious Mdakhi.

Sunday World can exclusively reveal that Mdakhi, who plays Saddam in the popular Mzansi Magic telenovela, has been kicked to the curb by his wife and the two are heading for divorce.

Mdakhi confirmed the separation but asked Sunday World to call him later.

“It’s interesting because me and my wife separated almost five years ago, but please let me take this call, it’s work,” he said, before asking to be called later.

But he ignored further efforts by Sunday World to contact him.

News that Mdakhi, whose moniker in the soapie is Dam Dam, has been deserted by his wife was revealed by a close family friend who did not want to be named for fear of reprisals. The friend said that Mdakhi’s wife had already moved out of their matrimonial pad in Winchester Hills, southern Joburg, and was now living in Bryanston, northern Johannesburg. The friend said the thespian’s wife initiated the divorce proceedings as she wanted to move on with her life.

“She does not want to disclose much to us except to say that they have lost interest in each other and both have no intention of rekindling their love or save their marriage,” said the friend.

Another friend of the ex-couple also confirmed that the two had separated and that their chances of reconciling were non-existent.

“They have two children, so he will take full custody of their first born while she will take full custody of the last born,” said the friend.

The friend added that the ex-couple had also agreed that Mdakhi will buy out Precious’ share of their Winchester Hills home, which they owned jointly.

“They have agreed that nobody will claim maintenance or spousal maintenance from each other.

“It has been difficult for us as their friends to accept but we have to and move on with our lives, especially because they are not fighting over anything they accumulated together.”

Attempts to solicit comment from Precious drew a blank as the woman who answered her phone claimed that the cellphone did not belong to her.
