Kaizer Chiefs set to strengthen the squad

Former Orlando Pirates dribbling wizard Thabo Rakhale has left Marumo Gallants and has signed a new contract with PSL new kids on the block Sekhukhune United.

The well-travelled midfielder enjoyed a decent season with Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila, now renamed Marumo Gallants, after he was dumped by Chippa United at the end of the 2019/2020 season, playing an instrumental role in TTM winning the Nedbank Cup against all expectations.

The 31-year-old Sebokengborn winger took Mzansi by storm soon after he joined the Buccaneers from amateur side Sivutsa FC. He was at Pirates for five seasons until he fell out of favour and was loaned out to Chippa United. He will be looking to revive his career at Sekhukhune United.

It has also emerged that former SA Under-20 coach Thabo Senong will be joining Sekhukhune after he resigned from his post as the Lesotho senior national team head coach.

The former Bidvest Wits player was spotted in KZN this past week and insiders believe there are talks between Usuthu officials and the former PSL Player of the Season.

Kaizer Chiefs are expected to make a massive announcement of 10 new players who might include players such as Kgaogelo Sekgota, Sibusiso Mabiliso, goalkeeper Brandon Petersen, Sifiso Hlanti and Phathutshedzo Nange and Njabulo Ngcobo.

Amakhosi also contemplate offering their old guard Willard Katsande, Bernard Parker and Itumeleng Khune short-term contracts until after the CAF Champions League final against Al Ahly on July 17.

Pirates are reported to be on the verge of acquiring Baroka quality players and future stars Evidence Makgopa and Goodman Mosele.

At TS Galaxy, Bevan Fransman has left the club while Reneilwe “Yeye” Letsholonyane has officially retired from the game to pursue business interests. In Limpopo, Baroka FC were the busiest in the market. They signed a total of eight players, including Bayzel Goldstone, Train Mokhabi and Decide Chauke, among others.

Big spenders Sundowns are quiet.
