Informal businesses ‘need digital access to join 4IR’
Minister of small business development Stella Ndabeni-abrahams this week said informal businesses need to access digital solutions for them to not be left behind by the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR).
Speaking at the Eu-african SMME summit, Ndabeni-abrahams said: “We need to ensure that digital applications also service informal businesses to avoid the development of a digital underclass.”
The summit aims to highlight opportunities for entrepreneurs and define the roadmap towards a successful economic co-operation in both Africa and Europe.
Although most sectors of SA’S economy are characterised by a high concentration of large corporates, accounting for the bulk of economic output and exports, small businesses play an important role.
