Players clubs are willing to splash on

With the new PSL season looming large in the first week of August, a number of clubs are taking advantage of the transfer window already in full swing to bolster their squads.

Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs are expected to spend big after aleague trophy drought that has lasted over six seasons, but do not discount Mamelodi Sundowns.

Sunday World looks at the players who are already setting tongues wagging.

Kaizer Chiefs (Franck Mbella Etouga)

Speculatio­n mill has gone into overdrive regarding Amakhosi’s potential pursuit of Cameroonia­n forward Etouga and they are said to be preparing to break the bank to have the young star on their books in the coming season.

Chiefs are reported to have submitted an offer for the 20-year-old striker from Ghana’s Asante Kotoko, who scored 20 goals for his side this season.

Orlando Pirates (Bienvenu Eva Nga)

It is now weeks since Bucs were linked with the move for Chippa United forward Eva Nga. The Cameroonia­n player was initially linked with a move to Chiefs but his agent recently revealed that the negotiatio­ns did not bear fruit.

It’s a done deal! Masandawan­a concluded the deal as early January for the top 21-year-old striker from Ethiopia’s Coffee Sports Club.

Amazulu (Riaan Hanamub) In another done deal, Nambian left-back Hanamub has reportedly already agreed to join Amazulu from Chippa United. Golden Arrows (Ryan Moon) Abafana Bes’thende have confirmed the signing of former Amakhosi striker Moon.
