International artists back Music Imbizo

-

Well, after a boring weekend in Eshowe, I was back in Durban for the Music Imbizo at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

It was nice to see some international artists taking part in the initiative as some are worried that the event was being hosted for the 13th time this year, but we still have artists in South Africa who are dying poor.

Dr Malinga is one of those who should have taken part in that initiative after the tears he cried in the Podcast and Chill With Macg. The event is all about artists uplifting one another.

South African artists are not interested in being taught how to take care of their finances, but Shimza was part of it. No wonder he’s doing well as a businessman and deejay. He takes his music seriously.

While I was at the Music Imbizo, I bumped into Taponeswa Mavunga, the director of Africa at Sony in the United Kingdom.

It was interesting to talk about how African music was able to make it overseas.

Channel O’s Gabby Abrahamse was also present at the event, doing video pitching. Keep that smile, sisi. You are one of the few in the industry who can still smile with us. I appreciate how you treat journos.

When I was about to leave, I bumped into former artist, now artist manager, Mpheristo. That one is never getting tired of blabbering.

You said your artist was going to do a feature with American award-winning artist, producer and songwriter Neo. I’m waiting for it, my brother.

I also met singer Zinhle Madela, Mr Leo from Cameroon, Tammy Clare Mbendera from Malawi and Kimberly Oxide from Mauritius, Sphe Mbhele, who is the project manager of Music Imbizo and Osmic from the Back to the City Festival.

I couldn’t stay for long, I’m used to partying, drinking and having fun. Dialogues bore me.
