APPOINTMENTS
Financial services group Absa has appointed Msizi Khoza as head of ESG in its corporate and investment banking division. He was previously chief of staff in the office of the Absa Group CEO. He holds an Msceng (electrical) – summa cum laude – and a Bsceng (computer).
In another appointment, Absa tapped Lindokuhle Mbanjwa as chief of staff for Absa’s relationship banking division. He was previously manager – strategic partnership development & taxi finance in Absa’s vehicle & asset finance space. He holds an MBA from Henley Business School.
South African student funding platform Feenix has appointed Cara-jean Petersen as its CEO. She replaces Leana de Beer. De Beer joined the organisation in 2017, and moved from the COO role in January 2020 to the CEO position. With Petersen stepping into the role as CEO of Feenix, De Beer will become the Group CEO and will also oversee the growth of its newly established social enterprise organisation, Wafunda.
Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana has appointed Leanne Jackson as the chief ombud of the ombud council with effect from the start of November. Jackson, an independent financial regulation consultant with extensive experience in the financial sector policy and regulation in both the public and private sectors, will occupy the position for five years.
