Sunday World (South Africa)

My very first Halloween party was a blast

-

Imanaged to stop at Backstage Lounge in Richards Bay in the north of the great holiday province of KwaZulu-natal.

There wasn’t much happening except they had their own halloween Sunday.

Truth be told, I had never been to a halloween event before and this was my night and made sure I pulled up.

DJ Nzwiri was the main act and it was exciting to see some struggling artists, who have been pushing underground hustles, being booked to perform at special events around the North Coast.

We were entertained by sets provided by the likes of DJ Queen, DJ Nattoz, Vio Da King, Greybix, Ubaba Kavosho and DJ Sendyboi.

DJ Forever, when are you dropping your EP or mixtape?

You can’t be an underground forever, the world has evolved, you need to capitalise on the new digital age and use social media platforms to push your stuff.

There was also a good performance by Menzi The Drummer, and he keeps improving.

It is about time you get out of your comfort zone and start making music with people from outside your province.

Trust me, what you have will take you places. You are in the same league as the guys from Black Motion.

And much as the weather in KZN is always friendly, last weekend it showered us with rain and the cold.

Courtersy of the new King’s blessings.
