GQ Awards attract the hunks, but I left alone!
Imagine a room full of hot delicious men – in the heart of the festive season. It was Kedezemba vibes for your Gossip Lady as I mingled with hunks at the GQ Men of the Year Awards, at the Leonardo in Joburg last Saturday.
The media release tells moi, “the awards are affectionately known as “MOTY” and recognise and celebrate trailblazers within our country, shaping our cultural landscape and pushing boundaries”. Phew!
As you know, I like things and to tell you the truth, I was there to catch a hot date. But then, the awards kicked off with comedian Donovan Goliath – dishing out his dry humour, with TV and radio presenter Unathi Nkayi playing host.
By the way, did she lose her A-list status this year?
Nana, I imagine you soooo bored at that online radio station, we pray you find your groove in 2023. But who knows, with that tjatjarag attitude of yours, things could even go more pear-shaped. You always want to outshine others.
There was absolutely no need to try and make everything about you – the world owes you nothing, baby gal.
Guys, remember Judith Sephuma? She crawled from under a rock for this do and she and DJ Mattel performed. It was rather sobering to hear mama Judith’s soothing voice, again.
Shwa spotted Lebo Gunguluza seemingly flying solo. What happened to your Casanova ways? I really didn’t expect it from a man who regards himself as a hunk. Have you lost your mojo?
Sello Maake ka-ncube and his wife Pearl came in matching outfits – these two are nauseating at times – like, on this day and age, who still does he’s and her’s?
Connie Chiume received a Lifetime Award. She is the first woman to receive this award at the GQ Men of the Year Awards. Kudos to you mama for bagging three Lifetime Awards this year.
Lebo M and his current wife were there, Shwa has lost count how many times this man has been hitched. They were all over the place, looks like they’re shooting another reality show. Moi was shocked to notice Lebo M’s height, he is shorter than I imagined. What’s important is being a happy couple, despite the man being vertically challenged. Shwa shall stick to men with big feet.
Also spotted former Top presenter actress Sarah Ngubeni, The Wife actor Bonko Khoza, author and filmmaker Mondli Makhoba, with their never-ending socialising and networking. Oh, I bumped into the ever so fabulous Nandi Madida, whose smile is so infectious.
But alas! I never scored the hot date moi was yearning for. Where have all the good guys gone?
