We wait and wait for buses

Sunday World - - Opinion -

DEAR Putco

Your buses are always full to the rafters, mostly late (or they don’t pitch at all), and we need raincoats even inside the bus.

People from Protea Glen extensions 11 and 12 are struggling with Fourways buses to and from work.

Please have some buses starting from the Tshepisong area via Leratong Hospital. Scores of commuters wait for buses coming from Protea, and because these buses are already full they no longer stop to pick up passengers.

The same happens in Florida, Main Reef Road and Albertina Sisulu Drive.

Buses coming from Randburg and Sandton also just pass by because they’re always full.

Then there are the rude drivers who think they own the buses. But we pay to be on those buses – we ’ re not hitchhikers.

Then comes Easter, and people flock to their church on those buses.

Other commuters are left stranded and frustrated, though they have paid for the entire month. This is just not on. Learn to serve the masses with pride and dedication. Don’t take advantage of poor people who can’t afford to drive themselves. Mandla Jacob Tshabalala
