Black lives still cheap

Sunday World - - Opinion -

WHY is the Oscar Pistorius trial wasting our tax money? Is it because a white woman was killed? So many black people were killed in Marikana for a living wage.

The Marikana killings did not attract so much media attention. Does that mean one white woman ’ s life is more important than so many black lives lost in Marikana? Are black lives cheap?

It ’ s a shame that we are still not important in our country, under a black government.

The trend of forgetting our atrocities too soon is still with us.

That is why we are no more united as before.

We are not even protesting against irresponsible spending and unjust laws such as e-tolls.

I love the composition of our government, but I cannot tolerate unnecessary expenditure of taxpayers ’ money. Clifford Shongwe
