Goodbye to errant politicians

He was called a Gupta state capture enabler and enforcer for all the rot that happened under his watch as public enterprises minister. And since a saucy video of him was leaked on social media, former home affairs minister Malusi Gigaba is now called a porn star in some quarters.

Through his actions, the former minister stripped away all the dignity of his office. Worst of all, he was found by the public protector to have violated the constitution by lying in court.

Gigaba has finally fallen on his sword. His exit from politics is welcomed.

Politicians who deny any wrongdoing despite the evidence are now in an era where errant politicians are being held accountable. The only way to deal with them is to relieve them of their duties.
