Good­bye to er­rant politi­cians

He was called a Gupta state cap­ture en­abler and en­forcer for all the rot that hap­pened un­der his watch as pub­lic en­ter­prises min­is­ter. And since a saucy video of him was leaked on so­cial me­dia, former home af­fairs min­is­ter Malusi Gi­gaba is now called a porn star in some quar­ters.

Through his ac­tions, the former min­is­ter stripped away all the dig­nity of his of­fice. Worst of all, he was found by the pub­lic pro­tec­tor to have vi­o­lated the con­sti­tu­tion by ly­ing in court.

Gi­gaba has fi­nally fallen on his sword. His exit from pol­i­tics is wel­comed.

Politi­cians who deny any wrong­do­ing de­spite the ev­i­dence are now in an era where er­rant politi­cians are be­ing held ac­count­able. The only way to deal with them is to re­lieve them of their du­ties.
