The more parties the merrier

Patricia de Lille’s new political party to contest next year’s general elections can only benefit South African citizens.

With the power of the

ANC, our major political party, waning, the two opposition parties, the EFF and DA, have filled the gap for some but there is room for more parties to thrive.

Voters complaining of the corruption malaise that has afflicted government and is associated with the ANC, will now have other choices. This means parties will stop taking voters for granted.

The contestation should raise the standards and calibre of representatives making promises to voters. They have to ensure they are beyond reproach as the voter can now shop around for better leaders.

Welcome back auntie Pat.
