Music to get you on dance floors
Summer just got hotter with these sizzling hits
The time is now to dance away all the 2018 blues as we prepare to usher in 2019 this summer. This is also the busiest time of the year, with artists juggling jam-packed festive season schedules.
King Monada, who took over the festive season with his hit Malwedhe, said this month is going to be quite hectic thanks to fans posting their fainting videos and making the song popular from Cape to Cairo.
“Unlike the December of Ska Bora Moreki, this time the fans made it happen and we are humbled,” said his manager Albert Makwela. After the hyped-up messages on Twitter when DJ Tira told Monada they will “Idibala” together at Fact Durban Rocks, Makwela said Monada will in fact be ushering in the new year with SABC1 fans in Sasolburg.
Motswako rapper Cassper Nyovest says December often feels like an exam time for artists. “It has come to the point where everyone dedicates enough time to see us perform, they are taking leave and we are working overtime. I think I perform almost every day this month,” he says.
The Gets Getsa hitmaker wants to entertain his fans from all corners of Mzansi.
Kiernan “AKA” Forbes, whose Fela In Versace is burning up the airwaves, said the festive season is just another month as he performs constantly throughout the year.
These other popular hits will heat up the dance floors:
■ We will all remember our lost ones with Vusi Nova and Jessica Mbangeni’s heartwrenching As’phelelanga.
■ Kwesta’s new track Vur Vai is a great party starter.
■ Hot on its heels is another dance track by Prince Kaybee ft. Busiswa called Banomoya.
■ Competing for the title of this summer’s anthems is also DJ Sumbody ft. Tira’s Ayepyep and Monate Mpolaye featuring Cassper Nyovest and Thebe.
■ When downing the free spirit waters, rather jive than drive to Black Coffee’s and David Guetta’s new single Drive, or stick to DJ Maphorisa and Moonchild’s Walk ye Phara. If that doesn’t rock your boat, grab your lover and step to ManuWorldstar’s Nalingi and Kelly Khumalo’s Dance Comigo. And Sho Madjozi’s much-awaited debut album Limpopo Champions League will fill up the stockings.
