SPCA plans social club
THE SPCA’s plans to create a family-orientated project-driven social club is gaining momentum.
The idea is to attract members of the community to enjoy social gatherings involving the whole family, young and old.
Various projects and ideas can be discussed and implemented in a relaxed environment.
The welfare of animals is of concern to us all and there are many wonderful ideas, however only a small team is on hand to further the goals of the SPCA.
The Yellow Dog project mentioned in our previous column is one such idea, and has received an excellent response.
This project impacts all dog owners, who walk their dogs in public places. In order to make this a success, community involvement is necessary and it is hoped that members of the social club would take on such a project.
One of the greatest challenges facing the SPCA, is lack of funds and people to assist with projects that affect us all.
It is envisaged that the social club be informal and an opportunity for like-minded people to get together in a relaxed environment.
We urge you to please embrace this concept by joining.
