Art of creativity at Bathurst Art Fair

-

THIS year’s Bathurst Art Fair (BAF) will once again be based on the opportunity for both professional and amateur artists to exhibit in an environment that they are comfortable with.

To see the art exhibitions, visitors can meander through the wonderful historical buildings, local businesses and artists’ homes to the second BAF.

Most exhibitors will offer their own value-added attractions ranging from refreshments to myriad things to see, do or experience.

BAF are proud to have on board an inspiring selection of national artists as well as new talent who consider themselves as amateur artists.

Last year Bathurst Primary School had a project where visitors could participate in creating a dynamic piece of art on the school wall. Based on the success of that project, BAF have prepared a few more participation projects for visitors, said organiser Tharine de Vos.

With sponsorship from Integrated Waste and Recycling Services (IWARS), the Bathurst Primary School will explore re-cycling from an informative, activity-orientated way.

“The Bathurst Primary School is going to be brimming with activities for kids, and you will be amazed at the real value of recycling,” De Vos said.

She expressed thanks for sponsorship from Amazing Events, which will assist the BAF to present even more for the “viewing and cognitive pleasure” of visitors, including fun with vintage tractors, a blacksmithing demonstration, Halloween open mic, pottery demonstrations, granny’s attic auction, and various other visitor participation activities.

“Without the whole town pulling together and rising to the occasion with such creative aplomb, the Bathurst Art Fair would never have been able to follow its vision of being a unique and anomalous event,” said De Vos.
