The old tourism train
the region. Also to placate the many, many “locals” who keep asking for someone to run a train again: our answer is, sorry, we ran out of funds, time and strength. Mostly funding. As a business it was a dead loss.
At that stage, the railway lines were workable in some portions, and although we could only travel as far as Bathurst, for the many hundreds of passengers we carried, the mere upkeep of the engine, and carriages (which we had converted out of old busses) the business “leaked” money.
We, the crew and shareholders, of the train company, will never forget the good times. The bad, we have blocked out of our memories, and for those that supported us, we will never forget you.
