Better not to excite the bunny huggers

Talk of the Town - - Opinion - DERRICK FELLOWS

In his letter “Dassie debate a real problem”, of September 27, “Pragmatic Biologist” refers to those who are concerned about the welfare of animals as “ecologically uneducated bunny huggers”.

Well, were it not for “bunny huggers”, we would still have dog fights, bull baiting, fox hunting and all the other blood sports which the depraved and perverted delighted in.

It would be best if the “bunny huggers” and the “bunny hunters” joined forces to find a humane solution to this problem.

However, I urge “Pragmatic Biologist” to temper his language, or I shall have to indulge in a bit of blood sport of my own; and set my cat upon him.
