Generating too much urban noise

Talk of the Town - - Opinion -

When the lights go out, the generators come on in my “hood”: to the front of me, to the back of me and now it seems – to the side of me.

Surely there is a municipal by-law which controls the use of generators in urban areas and prescribes appropriate muffling from readers, or pointers to applicable legislation, will be much appreciated.

Polite requests to neighbours have had little effect. It is unfair to expect me to endure the infernal roar jumping my boundary, until such time that Eskom sorts itself out.
