Nemato Change a Life sport

-

“The holiday was boring as usual, but the good news was the arrival of the new jumping mat for our ‘blacktop’ trampoline, donated by the Eastern Cape Academy of Sport,” Blom said.

“The trampoline never gets boring, and jumping doesn’t stop from early in the morning until we close at night.”

Nemato played in the Fameni Team at the OR Tambo Senior Handball Tournament in Mthatha and won silver.

Four Nemato fencers competed at the Eastern Cape Open in Port Elizabeth, a national ranking event. With the fencing club has doubled the number of Nemato fencers in the national ranking.

Nemato Rowing Club U19 A quad won at the Grey/ZRC Regatta and new rowers won the U15 C double in Knysna at the inter-provincial Midway Regatta.

For the first time in many years Nemato competed in the Schools Boat Race on the Kowie River.

Four Nemato gymnasts competed at the World Championships in St Petersburg in Russia. Liyema Nxobo, Siyabulela Siwa and Khanyile Mbolekwa competed at the Junior Competition while Onke Mangele was the first Nemato member ever to compete at Senior World Championships.

At the age of 16 he was the youngest participant at the event. His 21st place out of 35 on double-mini trampoline is an incredible achievement when you consider that NACL doesn’t even have a double-mini trampoline for him to train on.
