Support your community by shopping online

The iGadi Market is a community of suppliers working together to help each other and their customers.

It is an online store that delivers locally on a weekly basis. It is a website and an app.

“The virus has shown that the world is undergoing great change. We would like the iGadi Market to be part of a bridge that we can all cross together,” co-founder Carla Bright said.

“We are enabling small producers and growers to sell their products locally — and as a customer, you can help them in a sustainable way.”

Among the suppliers are: Bram’s on the Wharf who make frozen meals; Serenity Permaculture – seedlings and consultancy; Clumber Valley Natural Products by Don and Kathy Cumings; Lesley Sparks from Bathurst who makes rusks, jams and pickles; Shelbi’s Ice-Cream from Makhanda (Grahamstown); Hans from the Swiss Corner Bakery who makes fresh bread; and Springfield Farm for free-range chickens.

“We are hoping to expand the range of goods and services available on the market. If you would like to join, please get in touch,” Bright said.

The deadline for orders is Thursday at noon. There are no additions, exceptions or deviations. On Fridays deliveries are made to Kleinemonde, Bathurst and the hinterland; and on Saturdays there are deliveries to Kenton, Port Alfred and the hinterland.

You can pay online with a card or EFT, not cash.

“We hope that consumers will support this project and directly support their community,” Bright said.
