Q ATell us about your occupation. I am an owner of Black Rose Apothecary and formulator of Black Rose Products.

What is the most satisfying aspect of the work you do?

Helping and advising customers on a more natural way of living and creating products that I know can benefit them.

What is the one tourist aspect you would recommend to a visitor to the Sunshine Coast? A trip up the Kowie River.

If you have a bucket list, what is the top item you would like to do?

An island holiday with all my nearest and dearest.

What is your motto in life?

You should not have to tell people how to treat you.

What keeps you motivated? My family — raising a child is a daily conscious effort.

With the high unemployment rate in our country, what do you think could be done to address the situation?

Aiding people with training and education to be self-reliant.

Do you think enough is being done to reduce our carbon footprint on the planet? If not, what do you think could be done to change it?

I think things are just going from bad to worse. Every vegetable or bit of food you buy is wrapped in plastic. Shop more at grocers where you can use your own bags. Reduce, reuse and recycle. When you put your bins out, separate your plastics as the informal collectors take it to the recycling depot.

What is your favourite music of all time?

Anything that feeds the soul.

What is the one item that is always in your fridge? Cheese.

If you could be president of South Africa for one day, what would be the top three things you would do for your day in office?

Build more hospitals – we have had a failing healthcare system way before Covid; Corruption – weed it out; Crime – we need more police with a passion for their jobs.
