New shop offers quality meat and water

-

Having a steady stream of customers visiting their Kleinemonde home, Mande and Malcolm Rudolph recently opened Klear Moon Water and Ice along with Mally’s Traditional Biltong on Southwell Road in Port Alfred.

They decided to open the shop to make it more convenient for their loyal customer base and to attract new clients.

After purchasing a smallholding in Kleinemonde, the Rudolphs began curing and packing first grade quality meat as well as making meat products such as wors (Malcolm hunts venison), brawn, pork sausages (including chicken), burgers, chicken patties, salami’s, salt beef, biltong, dry wors and much more.

The Rudolphs have been preparing meat products for the last 36 years, perfecting their quality products.

“Malcolm is a retired farmer and a hunter.

“Coming from German stock, he knows the best way to prepare his venison wors,” said Mande.

Admitting she was biased, Mande said her husband’s biltong was “still the best around”.

“We have people arriving from as far away as Port Elizabeth and East London for Mally’s Traditional Biltong.”

The Rudolphs also sell drinking water called Klear Moon Water (the “KL” in clear to emphasise Kleinemonde).

The harvested rainwater is passed through a reverse osmosis and remineralisation system to ensure that it conforms with necessary health standards.

The water is sold in bottles but is also available for refilling customers’ own bottles.

“Opening a shop in Port Alfred will be of benefit to our customers who live further away,” said Malcolm.

Klear Moon Water and Ice and Mally’s Traditional Biltong is open from Monday to Friday, from 8.30am to 4.30pm.

On Saturdays, the shop opens at 8.30am and closes at 1pm.

Malcolm is a retired farmer and a hunter.
