‘Excellent’ Kowie Mixed Trips sees fierce rivalry

Doc Charles Louw, honorary life member of Bowls SA was in attendance at the fiercely contested Kowie Mixed Trips Rivalry which was run in his honour at the Kowie Bowls Club on April 24 and 25.

Louw was on hand to present the prizes to the four section winners.

He emphasised the urgency of these types of tournament­s to keep the interest of the game within the grasp of the everyday players.

Congratula­tions to all the section winners:

Blue section: Stan Long, Judy Alexander and Lennie Clark (Kowie).

Yellow section: Cedrick Taylor, Johan Mathyse and Roma Taylor (Somerset East).

Lilac section: Johan van

Onselen, Marieda Sherman and Ailida Zwiegers (Middleburg).

Green section: Clive and Gwen Bartlett and Billy Krige (Albany).

Kowie Club was congratula­ted on the excellent greens, food and spirit in which all the games were played.

Participan­ts extended a huge thank you to the excellent team who ensured it all ran well.
