The gift of living water

- Pastor Theo Snyman - Quotations from New International Version

Sometimes we do not fully appreciate something until it is removed from us.

Unfortunately, this is true in some relationships, and people live with regrets and say, “If only…”

Those with healthy bodies should see it as a blessing and should never take it for granted.

Restrictions have been placed on the freedom we have enjoyed for so long already. The wonderful fellowship of the saints in our different congregations have been dampened due to masks and social distancing. And then the crisis of the taps in Port Alfred running dry!

There is a source of Living Water that never shall run dry.

Speaking to a woman at a well in Samaria, the Lord Jesus said, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water” (John 4:10).

Being a gift, this water can be freely acquired.

There is a “vacuum” within the heart of mankind which causes us to seek after something or someone to fill that emptiness.

People try to fill it through different kinds of pleasures, adrenaline rush activities, sexual immorality, drunkenness, drug abuse, greed, and so on, but to no avail. Mankind’s search for someone greater and more powerful than they has resulted in more than 4,000 different religions!

There is only one Person who is able to satisfy that thirst forever.

The Lord Jesus said to the woman at the well, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life” (John 4:13, 14).

Are you spiritually thirsty and seeking fulfilment? Give your life to the Lord Jesus Christ … He is the Source of Living Water.
