A QTell us about your occupation

I am a profession­al, Londontrai­ned Cordon Bleu cook. My business is The Nautilus Kitchen in Port Alfred where I make fresh or frozen meals for local delivery.

Q: What is the most satisfying aspect of the work you do?

A: Being part of a community of people giving of their diverse talents for the enjoyment of others in this beautiful little gem in the Eastern Cape.

Q: What is the one tourist aspect you would recommend to a visitor to the Sunshine Coast?

A: The beautiful beaches and estuaries, the friendly people, natural beauty, peance and simplicity.

Q: If you have a bucket list, what is the top item you would like to do?

A: I would love to travel around Scotland, England and Zimbabwe to re-discover my roots.

Q: What is your motto in life?

A: ”The only person in the way is you.”

Q: What keeps you motivated?

A: Striving for excellence in my chosen field and being the best version of myself.

Q: With the high unemployme­nt rate in our country, what do you think could be done to address the situation?

A: Establish and promote necessary major infrastruc­ture projects with the involvemen­t of suitable local and foreign investors. Also a focus on early childhood education developmen­t is necessary as this is key to success and upliftment in life and a passport to a bright future.

Q: Do you think enough is being done to reduce our carbon footprint on the planet? If not, what do you think could be done to change it?

A: No. We each need to play our own little part to address the precarious and delicate ecology of the environmen­t and strive to create the kind of world we would like to leave for our children and grandchild­ren.

Q: What is your favourite music of all time?

John Denver, James Taylor, Simon & Garfunkel and so many more.

Q: What is the one item that is always in your fridge?

A: White wine.

Q: If you could be president of SA for one day, what would be the top three things you would do for your day in office?

A: Put policies in place to implement easy access to clean water for all; review the social grant policies and procedures with a view to alleviate poverty; propose stricter animal protection legislatio­n and procedures.
