Apply to study through Allan Gray university programme
Applications for the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation’s University Fellowship Programme are officially open to matric pupils across the country.
The programme focuses on promoting entrepreneurial skills among the youth.
Successful applicants will be granted access to entrepreneurial mindset development, funding for their university studies as well as personal and academic support.
“All of this will nurture and develop their entrepreneurial mindset, enabling them to develop into high-impact responsible entrepreneurs,” Allan Gray said in a recent statement. In order to apply, applicants must:
● Have South African citizenship;
● Be 21 years of age or younger in 2022;
● Achieve a minimum of 60% in pure maths or a minimum of 80% in maths literacy for final Grade 11 results;
● Achieve a minimum average of 70% for final Grade 11 results (excluding life orientation);
● Plan on studying towards a commerce, science (excluding medicine, veterinary science and dentistry); engineering, law, humanities or arts degree at the University of the Witwatersrand, University of Johannesburg, University of Cape Town, Nelson Mandela University, Rhodes University, University of the Western Cape, Stellenbosch University, University of Pretoria, University of the Free State and University of KwaZuluNatal;
● Possess an entrepreneurial mindset,
● Belief in the future of South Africa.
Full funding will be provided to applicants from families with a combined annual household income of R1m or below, while those from families with a combined AHI above R1m million will receive needs-based funding.
