Country’s property market is healthy

- Simon Oliver

Covid and the acceptance of remote working has been very good for markets around the coast. In particular Knysna, Plettenberg bay, George, Mossel bay, Hermanus and Cape Town.

Needless to say Kenton on Sea, Port Alfred, Boesmansriviermond, Boknesstrand and Cannon Rocks are also on the radar of people wanting to leave the inland cities.

It is easy to work remotely, commute and enable your family to live in an environment which is safe and offers so many outdoor activities. We are also blessed with a number of wonderful schools.

This area offers great value relative to some of the areas in the Western Cape. Buyers who may never have considered this part of the Eastern Cape are exploring the area and falling in love with it.

However because there are still a number of houses on the market they are not pushing prices up. In this sort of market, it is important that if you are serious about selling that the price at which your home is marketed is attractive relative to other houses in the market.

Your agent should be able to help you set the price.

This year the Jewish Passover is being celebrated on the same weekend that Christian’s celebrate Easter. It got me thinking that selling one's home seems to epitomise both.

The selling of the home is the celebration of being liberated from our old home and the promise of starting something new full of hope.

If you would like to discuss either buying or selling a home in Ndlambe, please give me a call on 082-653-5643 or email me on simon.oliver@seeff.com.

I look forward to hearing from you.
