- STAFF REPORTER

Get ready for an epic Easter weekend at the Port Alfred River and Ski Boat Club, where the line-up of live music performances and deep sea fishing will make for a truly memorable experience.

The fun starts with live music on Thursday April 14 with reggae fusion from Jahworx, who hail from the jungles of the Magoebaskloof Mountain in Limpopo, as part of their Autumn Rush tour.

Jahworx brings with them a fresh sound of acoustic and percussion based reggae fused with world genres. Make sure not to miss out as this band takes well known covers to next level and originals that will blow your socks off.

R50 gets you in and the show starts at 6pm.

Next on the line-up is legendary front man Arno Carstens who will be appearing on Friday April 15, with the doors opening at 6pm and music starting at 7pm.

The cost is R200 at the door. Come and experience one of South Africa’s premiere musicians with a career spanning over two decades from his days with the Springbok Nude Girls to his solo career.

Those looking for some adventure on the water can look forward to some deep sea fishing with the Species Spectacular Deep Sea Fishing Competition from April 16 to April 18. Registration and briefing take place on April 15 at the Ski Boat Club from 2pm to 5pm.

Entrance fee is R400 which includes a braai pack, salad and rolls for each angler. Extra braai packs available for sale at the bar.

Fishing will take place from first light and weighing will take place at the club. The competition is open to all ski boats and jet skis with a valid COF and due to Covid regulations only the first 12 boat entries will be accepted and entries close on April 15.

The boundaries will be from Fish River to Kasouga Point and will not count Black Steenbras, Yellow Belly, Seventy Fours or Sharks.
