Budget, IDP consultations on Ndlambe FM
The 2022/ 2023 Integrated Development Plan (IDP) and Budget consultation process is under way this week on Ndlambe FM 99.0.
If you’re a local but live beyond the station’s reach, you can also livestream the IDP/ Budget Mayoral ImbizoProgramme on www.ndlambefm.co.za.
The community consultations are a requirement of the local government Municipal Systems Act and are intended to give communities the opportunity to say what their area’s development priorities are. A media release from Ndlambe explains this is in terms of sections 16 (a) (1) and 17 (1) (a) to (e) of the local government Municipal Systems Act No 32 of 2000.
“Notice is hereby given that the Mayor of Ndlambe Local Municipality will embark on an IDP/ Budget Mayoral ImbizoProgramme,” the statement reads.
“The Mayor will conduct her programme [via] radio wherein she will be interacting with communities from all wards regarding the IDP and the budget for 2022/2023 financial year.”
Larger wards have their own schedule while others share slots.
By the time you read this, the consultations for Alexandria’s wards one and two and Kentonon-Sea and Marselle - wards three and four - will have been completed.
On Thursday May 19 at 10am to midday, Mayor KhululwaNcamiso is scheduled to interact with Port Alfred’s wards seven, eight and nine. From 4pm-6pm on the same day are scheduled Bathurst, Seafield and Rural Communities wards five and six.
