Port Alfred has strong feelings about fibre internet. Some want fast connectivity yesterday no matter what it takes. Others are furious about the disruption to infrastructure that’s required to install it. Which side of the fibre wars are you on?

Lydia McKay said: “Just wondering if those who complain also complain when their internet runs at a snail’s pace.”

Caryn Bruyns said: “I think we should go forward not backwards as we usually do! Give us fiber !!!! ”.

Colleen Pansegrouw asked: “Would really like to know when Herotel Fibre is going to be a reality!” and Sarah Cohen responded: “If you are a Herotel customer phone them and ask them to let you know when your area gets a green light on their system.” Eugene Catherine attested saying “Colleen, I've been live for 6 weeks already. They are definitely increasing going live. Best just call them and enquire.”

Dirk Swanepoel is opposed to the disruption and said: “Bugger that! I am not having wires draped across my yard or in my view - why can't they bury their cables?”

Natalie Gibson on the other hand was totally for fibre in town. She said: “I'm for Fibre. People need to get things done better quicker faster... don't understand why people keep moaning.”

Norbert Erwin Mügge was also for the fibre installations and said: “Just do it!n To hell who does not like it.”
