Lesley Theunissen of Rosehill Superspar, Nemato Spar and Sunshine Coast Spar is a stalwart member of the community and looks back on the changing role of women in society now and in the past.

How does technology assist you in your line of business?
Technology has changed every aspect of the way businesses operate. The outbreak of the Covid pandemic catapulted business into embracing technology.
What does your average day consist of in your business?
The three main areas are planning, organising and managing, but simultaneously maintaining a fine line between business demands and family responsibilities. There are challenges that have to be faced, such as the unforeseen consequences of technology failing, for example, when internet connectivity is lost due to bad weather or loadshedding.
Do you think the 15-year old version of you would be proud
of what you have achieved?
I would like to think so. Women play a key role in socio-economic development and they wear many hats.
What would you say are your strongest personality traits that assist you in running your business?
Setting goals and achieving them is what motivates me and I firmly believe in team effort.
