Constructive collaboration the way for Sunshine Coast
The Kenton/Boesmans Chamber of Business and Tourism recently held their AGM at Jeremiah in Kenton.
It began with an impressive presentation by the Kenton and Port Alfred offices of Sunshine Coast Tourism.
Speaking to Talk of the Town afterwards, chairperson Doug Swanson said “tourism is where we are and where we’re going. Everything else hangs on it”.
He said there was very good collaboration between community organisations in the area, including Estuary Care, Bushmans Ratepayers, Kenton Ratepayers and the chamber.
He credited people heading those organisations for this progressive approach and said they also enjoyed a very constructive relationship with Ndlambe Municipality.
“It means we’re using limited resources more effectively. It’s easy to throw stones at all levels of government but the reality is we must work with Ndlambe, whatever the issues are: some are tabled and resolved; other issues we are jointly addressing with other authorities.”
