Project a boost for Nolukhanyo Grow

-

At the beginning of August, the St Andrew’s Prep grade 6 and 7 boarders spent a morning fencing and planting this garden. A month-and-a-half later, it looks like this!

We have identified 10 household food gardens that we can help and we’re tackling them one by one: with fencing, providing seeds, seedlings, food vines and trees, plus flowers and succulents. We also bring compost, manure, fertiliser and assistance with working the land and getting the plants established.

These two photos go to show how a concentrated effort by a group of volunteers can basically set a family up to feed themselves forever.

We also put the finishing touches to a chicken coop, adding eggs and meat to the self sustainable party!

Thank you to BUCO for the fence ingredients.
