PAHS contributes to debating team victories
On Saturday October 15 Port Alfred High School debaters Adam Schultz, Amaza Mazana, Bulelani Mkele and LithembaTuko participated in a debating competition at Merrifield High in East London.
The competition, attended by schools in the Border and East London leagues, was conducted with composite teams from different schools.
PAHS debaters contributed to their respective teams winning seven out of eight debates.
“This is most commendable particularly as Amaza Mazana and Bulelani Mkele are juniors competing in the senior division,” said coach, Lydia Atteridge.
The topics explored issues around pharmaceutical patents, private healthcare, punishments for cyber-bulling by learners and climate change activism.
